This is one of the many ‘ads’ that were made as part of the ‘Newsgood’ radio show I co-hosted on NZ radio station bFM. It was a weekly recap of the most unusual stories from the music industry. In between we played satirical ads and public service messages that we wrote, recorded and voiced.
About the Big Dig:
Every summer, the Orewa Lion’s Club organises The Big Sand Dig, a family event where people dig into a roped-off area of Orewa Beach sand, looking for prize tickets. Every year I lived there, I would be woken at 7am Sunday morning by the PA system repeatedly announcing it was the day of the Dig. It was tantamount to torture.
